Work at Camp Triumph
Each summer, we hire a core team of staff to fill key roles in order to make camp happen and run smoothly. This team is called the Core Staff. They live on site throughout the summer and are the backbone of the summer operation.

WHAT WE DO AT CAMP
Our camp program activities include, swimming, kayaking, archery, field games, drama, music, sports (field and court), beach time, arts & crafts, high & low rope challenge course elements, rock wall rope climbing, big group games, campfires, and more.

The Role Prior to Camp Sessions
These duties include, overseeing staff members (and participating) in their efforts to prepare the facility and equipment before the camp season begins; assisting with events, new projects, fundraising initiatives, the planning and organizing the camp programs; creating social media content, and planning and running programming for visiting day and overnight groups. Camp Manager assists in conducting staff training as well as managing the staff’s flow of work in consultation with the Directors.The Role During Camp Sessions
Take a lead role in supervising and overseeing staff to ensure all policies, rules, and procedures are being followed. The Camp Manager fills in on tasks where extra help is needed, helps to meet the needs of campers, problem solves common situations that may arise, and supports staff with guidance and reminders to enable them to do their best work. They capture content for promotion of the organization and may assist in tasks related to organizational/program development.Duties

The Role PRIOR to Camp Sessions
Generally, these duties include, helping to prepare the facility and equipment before the camp season begins; assisting with events, new projects, fundraising initiatives, the planning and organizing the camp programs; creating social media content, undergoing training, and running programming for visiting day and overnight groups. Core staff have the option to live on or offsite during this time when campers are not present. Weekends are generally time off.The Role DURING Camp Sessions
Helping to lead activities and building relationships with the campers while looking after their needs as a part of the core team of staff. Core counsellors live on site and are present throughout camp helping to deliver all aspects of the camp program where needed. They supervise the campers and make sure all policies and procedures are being upheld. Time off is given between camp sessions and a four-day break between Sessions three and four.Core Counsellor Duties

Prepare the campers within your cabin for each activity and what comes next on the schedule
Encourage campers to participate in all activities and make connections with peers
Ensure all policies and procedures are being followed in the context of the cabins, washrooms, activity areas, beach, dining hall, scullery, lodge, and on all activity sessions and free time.
Assist other staff in their duties where they need it
Model appropriate behaviour and language for campers and fellow staff
Stay aware and look after your own well-being so you are able to be at your best

They assist with and lead planning for events, assist with new projects and fundraising initiatives, lead in creating social media content and running programming for visiting day and overnight groups.The Role During Camp Sessions
Responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and overseeing our creative, diverse, and engaging program. This includes daily activity sessions, scheduling, and camp-wide activities. The program coordinator insures that all activities are running smoothly and fit the goals of Camp Triumph and adjusts accordingly if necessary. They oversee the staff in their implementing of the activities. The Program Coordinator lives on site when camp sessions are on and is present throughout camp. -

In addition to an increased role in the pre-planning of programs, Program Assistant will assist the Program Coordinator in the planning, developing, implementing, and overseeing our creative, diverse, and engaging programs. This includes daily activity sessions, scheduling, and camp-wide activities. They all help insure that all activities are running smoothly and fit the goals of Camp Triumph and adjusts accordingly if necessary. The Program Assistant lives on site and is present throughout camp and will fill the role of counsellor on top of programming duties.Program Assistant Duties
Assist the Program Coordinator in the planning of activities (new and existing) and how they will fit into the overall program
Assist in brainstorming changes to the camp program
Help to implement the schedule and make use of available equipment
Identify and make adjustments to the schedule and program where needed

Assist in planning and delivering the camp programs and activities
Continuously look for ways to improve the experience for campers and staff
Along with a cabin partner, manage the dynamics within your cabin while creating an atmosphere of fun and inclusivity.
Help to resolve issues within the cabin and anticipate potential conflict
Make important connections with campers as their role model
Prepare the campers within your cabin for each activity and what comes next on the schedule

This person oversees all activity at the waterfront (beach on the Atlantic Ocean). They look after the preparation for each kayaking session, lead facilitation of the kayaking program on the water, run beach activities if conditions are adverse, look after the care and storing of kayaks and equipment at day’s end, and assist in other tasks/activities as assigned as a part of the core staff. They lead daily beach time supervision. Kayak instructor certification required but could be obtained between being hired and prior to camp starting. The Waterfront Coordinator lives on site and is present throughout camp and will fill the role of counsellor on top of waterfront duties. Time off is given between camp sessions and a four-day break between Sessions three and four.Waterfront Coordinator Duties
Brainstorm and plan waterfront activities (in consultation with Program Coordinator and Program Assistant)
Ensure all kayaking and waterfront equipment is properly cared for and stored
During beach time and kayaking sessions, oversee supervision and ensure it is continuously adequate (assign staff to specific supervision duties)
Adjust kayak session if weather and tides are hindering to safety and enjoyment
Help to keep the camp on schedule
Assist in planning and delivering the camp programs and activities
Continuously look for ways to improve the experience for campers and staff
Along with a cabin partner, manage the dynamics within your cabin while creating an atmosphere of fun and inclusivity.

The First Aid Coordinator administers first aid to the campers when bumps, bruises, upset stomachs occur and dispenses camper’s prescribed medication. These tasks are engaged in as needed (i.e. when a need for first aid arrises) therefore they also fulfill the role of counsellor - helping to run activities and supervise the campers. A full nursing, medical, or paramedic degree is not required. Must have first aid training certification. The First Aid Coordinator lives on site and is present throughout camp. Time off is given between camp sessions and a four-day break between Sessions three and four.First Aid Coordinator Duties
Collect all camper medication at the beginning of each camp session and document instructions for administering
Administer camper medication in accordance to instructions from each camper’s parent
Keep up-to-date records of administering camper medication
Assess camper’s injuries and aliments as they arise and make a plan for managing
Ensure the plan and any treatments is documented and communicated to the directors
Treat camper’s injuries and aliments within the purview of first aid
Consult with directors and on-call doctors for additional guidance where needed
Keep first aid cabinet tidy, organized and locked at all times
Maintain an inventory of first aid supplies
Help to keep the camp on schedule
Assist in planning and delivering the camp programs and activities
Continuously look for ways to improve the experience for campers and staff

Under the direction of the Directors and Kitchen Manager, the cook is responsible for preparing or helping to prepare most meals and snacks. They will assist the Kitchen Manager in all tasks relating to food service. They will help direct kitchen volunteers in preparation and serving of meals where needed.
Salary Range: $18 - $25 per hour, 15-20 hours per week

In consultation with the Directors, the kitchen manager is responsible for the development of the menu, ordering all necessary food and kitchen supplies, managing inventory, and overseeing the daily operation of the kitchen during all camp sessions (i.e. making sure meals are cooked and delivered on time). They plan for the necessary accommodations for dietary requirements and food allergies. They will ensure the camp is following all regulations for food safety as set out by the Department of Environmental Health. They will oversee all of the kitchen volunteers and other cooks and direct them as appropriate.
$18- $25 per hour, 15 - 25 hours per week (plus accommodations and meals)

Position Purpose
To help maintain Camp Triumph’s facility and its assets while aiding in its operation.Description
The Facility Manager is responsible for maintaining the Camp Triumph facility in order to keep it at top operating shape and to extend its longevity. They are responsible for basic maintenance, refurbishment, upkeep, re-stocking, and cleaning where needed. This includes all buildings, camp grounds, and equipment. They ensure the facility is staying in accordance with safety rules and regulation. They inspect the facility for damage following weather events and coordinates the appropriate fixes. The Facility Manager is counted on to secure the facility when not in active use and open up the facility for rental group use.Position Duties
Coordinating with the Directors on facility maintenance decisions
Conducting basic maintenance on grounds, buildings, equipment (skill dependant)
Monitoring the performance of assets within the facility and coordinating repairs
Supervising maintenance workers and making sure they have the access they need
Inspecting equipment and keeping records
Training/instructing employees on proper maintenance where needed
Ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols
