CT Holiday Giving Overview Image 2017 (pics only) copy.jpeg

This holiday season, a gift to Camp Triumph will be a gift directly toward making a difference in the next generation.

At Camp Triumph, we support some of the most amazing young people who all have a significant life experience in common - they all have a parent or sibling with a serious illness or disability. In a household where one family member requires a lot of care and attention, the children we support are often in the background, their needs under met, but we know their potential is great. We provide a place where campers can harness their unique potential in an environment where they can just be kids.

With 13 years under our belt, we have proven that this large and specific population has needs that aren’t fully being met. We have given them a chance to attend camp for free, make connections with others who truly understand their struggles, find temporary relief from anxiety and stress, and to just have fun.

As one camper said, “Camp Triumph is my Christmas.” For this camper and so many others, please find a way to help us continue our work of supporting amazing kids as we work towards giving them the tools they need to handle stress, anxiety, and significant challenges, while promoting resiliency, unselfishness, and caring for others.

Camp Triumph is proud to bring an Amazing Race style fundraiser to PEI this June. Similar to the popular TV show, the fun-packed day will see teams of two racing across the Green Gables Shore solving puzzles and completing challenges before crossing the finish line for a post-race celebration at Camp Triumph.

While the task locations remain a secret until race day, teams can expect unique and fun challenges testing both mental and physical ability. Whether first place or last, the real winners will be families affected by chronic disease or disability, as all funds will sponsor eligible children to attend Camp Triumph.

“We are so excited to host this event and proud of the experience we are able to offer participants,” said Program Coordinator and event organizer, Kathleen Murphy. “We welcome teams of all skill levels from across the Island or across the bridge. If you’re interested in registering or donating to a team, please don’t hesitate to send us an email. I look forward to seeing everyone on race day!”

Within each team, one participant must be at least 16 years or older to register and at least one team member must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for the day. The event will take place on Saturday, June 24 beginning at Camp Triumph in Malpeque at 11:00 am. Lunch and dinner are provided. As this is fundraising event for Camp Triumph, we ask that teams raise a minimum of $150 in pledges prior to the event in addition to the $80 registration fee. If no fundraising was done, teams can pay $250 to enter. Race advantages are given to top fundraising teams. Spaces are limited.

For more information and updates about the race, please visit Camp Triumph on Facebook and here on our website. If you are up for the challenge and would like to register or have any questions, please email info@camptriumph.ca. Early bird registration saves $20 off registration prices before May 15th so gather your friends and register ASAP!

If you would like to follow along with racers throughout the day and see highlights and photos of racers and participating businesses, like Camp Triumph on Facebook and Instagram.

This past weekend was the annual Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management Curling Challenge for Camp Triumph. As always teams showed their spirit and enthusiasm in the fun event to raise money for Camp Triumph. The event was again supported by Maritime Resident Doctors and Dalhousie Medical School's Post-Graduate office as part of their annual faculty versus residents challenge.

The event would not have been a success without the hard work of a number of Camp Triumph volunteers.

Keep and eye out for details on next year’s event so you don’t miss out on the fun and excitement!

Camp Triumph is grateful for the support received this year from the Horton High School Interact Club. The club, which is a student led initiative, is affiliated with the Mud Creek Rotary Club and is the only one of it’s kind in the area. The group chooses one international funding priority and one local one each year. This year the group is organizing a clothing drive for Syrian refugees as well as raising funds for Camp Triumph. So far this year the group has raised just over $1200 through various fundraising events. The Interact Club is led by President Hannah Ehler and Vice President Grace Henri. Keep up the great work, Camp Triumph is proud of your efforts!
