Jamie’s Legacy

Jamie Holden was a very special camper to the Camp Triumph family. He enthusiastically joined camp first as an eight year old and attended from 2014 to 2020. We have had the pleasure of watching him blossom into a confident, caring, resilient, and unique individual, who embraced the opportunities at camp to experience new things and take on challenges. He shared his talents as a writer and artist. His passion and enthusiasm embodied the spirit of Camp Triumph.

Jamie was the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Hurricane Herald (later renamed to the Camper Chronicles) Camp Triumph’s own daily newspaper for campers. It started as a handwritten account of camp from Jamie’s memory to a polished, typed newspaper layout showcasing the daily experience of life in “the camp bubble”. Campers and staff enjoyed reading each edition which was informative and humorous.

Jamie will forever be a part of the Camp Triumph family. We are honoured to have shared quality time and many experiences with him.

The Jamie Holden Legacy Fund has provided a permanent legacy for Jamie to Camp Triumph. Over the past couple summers, it has updated and enhanced our adventure education program infrastructure and created “Jamie’s Place”. It will continue to add to and improve recreational infrastructure to Camp Triumph each year. This ensures thousands more campers will be able to enjoy exciting, unique activities in honour of Jamie.

All donations made from Giving Tuesday (November 28) until New Years Eve 2023 will be matched by Jamie’s family! Up to a total of $2,000.
